NZ Internships/Work Placements
Our New Zealand internship programme is available to tertiary students from certain countries who are studying OUTSIDE New Zealand. Those participating must be genuine students who are required to do a work placement as part of their course requirements.
The internship period is for the period your university specifies you need to do your internship. Internship New Zealand will find an employer willing to employ an intern and pay a reasonable wage (at least minimum wage in New Zealand).
Fees for an Internship NZ agent and /or counselling services vary from country to country and currency to currency, but should be expected to be upwards of USD $1000.00
Office hours support with the Internship New Zealand office
Arrange airport transfer and assistance with preparing a bank account
Two nights’ accommodation at budget hostel
Welcome pack including NZ Lonely Planet book
What is Included?
The programme runs all year.
Dates
A work visa lasts for the period specified by your university and is issued for the exact dates of internship, as per employer’s notification.
Some participants can remain in New Zealand as tourists after their work visa expires. Participants from some countries will need to apply for a tourist visa.
